B'z Special LIVE at EX THEATER ROPPONGI was a special event featuring B'z that served as the grand opening performance for the TV Asahi-sponsored EX THEATER ROPPONGI. The show took place on November 30, 2013, two months after the band's concluding 25th anniversary show for B'z LIVE-GYM Pleasure 2013 -ENDLESS SUMMER-.

Tickets were available only through a lottery promotion through purchasing copies of the B'z The Best XXV collections. The eventual winners were then notified in mid-November. The show served as the first sponsored special event featuring B'z since 2012's Pepsi NEX showings in Osaka and Tokyo. In total, it was the band's third sponsored outing to be carried out in tandem with other brands and was the ninth occasion that a B'z show served as the concert debut of a venue.

The setlist for the one-off show featured songs performed during the band's recent Pleasure tour B'z LIVE-GYM Pleasure 2013 -ENDLESS SUMMER-. As was the case with that tour's hall shows, "Q&A" from B'z The Best XXV 1999-2012 was used as the opener and was followed by perennial fan-favorite "ZERO" and the recently-revived "LADY NAVIGATION". Other songs revisited from the earlier tour include "ALONE", "Negai", "Ai no Bakudan", "Ichibu to Zenbu", "LOVE PHANTOM", "girigiri chop" and "ultra soul".

Classics "Hadashi no Megami" and "NATIVE DANCE" were performed at select venues on the earlier tour before being included here. The band's 1998 single "HOME" was revisited for the first time since B'z SHOWCASE 2007 -B'z In Your Town-, while fellow singles "MY LONELY TOWN" and "BANZAI" were performed for the first time since 2011's United States and Canada tour long time no see. Similarly, "Easy Come, Easy Go!" and "Shoudou" were carried over from the 2012 international tour Into Free.

Most notably, to begin the encore of the eighteen song setlist, the band chose to perform a live debut of a new song that was first heard as the ending music played as the audience left the arena during the anniversary tour.
